Oil States Piper is currently looking for qualified candidates for the position of
CNC MACHINIST III OKLAHOMA CITY, OK In our organization, the CNC Machinist III has a critical and challenging role in helping achieve innovation and meeting our commitments by safely operating machining centers to produce high quality machined parts with a high level of emphasis in the areas of safety, quality, and sense of pace during all machine shop activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities \n - Generate CNC programs, with and without programming software, using the appropriate speeds, feeds, and depths of cuts based on material.
\n - Train employees of the machine shop area with strong emphasis in the areas of safety, quality, and sense of pace during all shop activities.
\n - Assist machine shop leadership with maintaining the machine shop schedule including but not limited to assigning shop and administrative tasks, which include Glovia and Mercury transactions, to ensure products are ready for delivery to Quality by the documented due date, considering parts requiring outside processing.
\n - Set-up and operate CNC machines to produce precision parts to drawing specifications.
\n - Assume leadership role as designated when Machine Shop Supervisor isn't present.
\n - Monitor the speeds and feeds of CNC machines during the machining process.
\n - Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics, machine shop theories, and instruments, including but not limited to, micrometers and vernier calipers.
\n - Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto the machines.
\n - Select appropriate tools, machines, and materials for each specific machining process.
\n - Participate in Research & Development activities as required.
\n - Perform all tasks as required of a Safety Sensitive position.
\n
Other Duties and Responsibilities \n - Maintain the CNC machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and documented machining procedures.
\n - Measure and examine completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications.
\n - Assist the Machine Shop Supervisor in making recommendations with the goal of reducing cycle times, improving machine scheduling, and/or increasing Safety.
\n - Maintain a strong knowledge of all OSI-OKC Piper's machined parts and the processes needed to machine them.
\n - Effectively and efficiently use time to safely perform duties.
\n - Complete all paperwork in required manner and time.
\n - Demonstrate a willingness to learn to produce new products, use new procedures, and embrace and support change.
\n - Follow and support established HSE programs.
\n - Report any unsafe situations to appropriate Management Team member if necessary.
\n - All other duties or tasks as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities \n - Demonstrated knowledge of CNC Programming using multiple platforms including Fanuc, Mazatrol and Master Cam.
\n - Ability to operate all shop equipment.
\n - Ability to effectively coach and train employees.
\n - Strong problem-solving skills.
\n - Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects daily in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
\n - Ability to speak, write and read English.
\n - Able to work independently or as part of a team on a broad variety of projects.
\n - Willingness to work additional hours to meet tight deadlines.
\n
Qualification Requirements \n - High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
\n - Five (5) years of experience in the operation and setup of CNC mills and lathes
\n - Two (2) years of experience in CNC programming using multiple controls/programs.
\n - Must obtain and maintain active OSI-OKC Piper certification to operate Class IV forklifts.
\n - Must obtain and maintain active OSI-OKC Piper certifications to operate cranes.
\n
Physical Requirements \n - Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
\n - Constant lifting, kneeling, bending, walking, and/or standing.
\n
Tools and Equipment Used \n - Frequent use of computer equipment to include but not limited to laptop computer, monitors, keyboard, mouse, scanner, and printer.
\n - Frequent use of company designated software programs to include but not limited to project time tracking software, and office productivity software packages.
\n - Frequent use of CNC Machining equipment such as lathes, mills, and saws.
\n - Frequent use of various hand and power tools to include but not limited to air and hydraulic torque and sanding tools.
\n - Frequent use of overhead cranes and other lifting devices including but not limited to 1/2-ton cranes, 1-ton cranes, 5-ton cranes, and associated rigging.
\n - Periodic use of Class IV forklifts.
\n
Quality/Customer Service Implications \n - Directly impacts workplace safety through active participation in OSI-OKC Piper HSE programs and safe work practices.
\n - Immediately and directly impacts quality of product through machining processes and setups.
\n - Indirectly impacts customer satisfaction through component quality, appearance, fit, and on-time delivery.
\n
Safety Sensitive Position This position is designated as a Safety Sensitive Position as defined by the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act.
