Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist | Onsite | 2nd Shift

📍 Lexington, KY (40511)

Our Client is seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to support a high-volume manufacturing assembly plant environment. This is a hands-on, onsite role working closely with production, facilities, and leadership to ensure safety, environmental compliance, and operational excellence across the site.

This position supports a union facility with extensive machinery and robotics and requires a strong presence on the manufacturing floor.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Implement and support Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) policies, procedures, and site-specific programs
  • Develop and deliver EHS training to meet regulatory and corporate requirements
  • Lead incident and accident investigations , including root cause analysis and corrective action tracking
  • Conduct EHS audits, risk assessments, and compliance reviews
  • Participate in external regulatory and loss prevention audits
  • Coordinate and close corrective actions with site leadership and operations teams
  • Partner with facilities and maintenance to ensure fire and life safety systems are properly maintained
  • Oversee environmental permitting related to air, water, and land requirements
  • Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste programs
  • Serve as the primary EHS contact for government and regulatory inquiries

What We’re Looking For

  • 3–5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Hands-on exposure to:
  • Manufacturing assembly operations
  • Machinery and robotic systems
  • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety or a related field
  • Strong working knowledge of:
  • Health and safety engineering practices
  • Physical and chemical hazard evaluation
  • ISO environmental regulations and principles
  • Experience staying current with EHS laws and regulatory changes
  • Comfortable working in a union manufacturing facility (experience is a plus)
  • Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Work Schedule

  • Onsite, 2nd Shift
  • Approx. 2:30/3:00 PM – 10:30/11:00 PM EST
